Virtual Power Plants as a gateway to the European electricity market

Renewables, such as biogas, solar and wind are challenging traditional power generators throughout Europe. At the same time, a substantial number of these renewable generators are too small to operate effectively as part of national or international electricity markets. This is where virtual power plants (VPP) come into play.
